An investigation into the nature of language and its limits.
The artists explore word, touch, code, record and the nature of our interactions and connections.
An interactive experience, a challenge to our understanding of what it is to communicate. Does language, written or otherwise, always convey meaning?
When is there not enough? When does meaning require more than language?
As a collaborative, we seek clarity, a grand narrative, to open up barriers to communication, and engage in dialogue with history, life and death.
As material frays, so too does language.
1. relating to a transitional or initial stage of a process.
2. occupying a position at, or on both sides of, a boundary or threshold.
Daisy De Windt
A tactile, playful record of experimentation with language: written and spoken. An abstract reference to Australian artist Imants Tillers’ “I Am” and the ongoing internal journey which can be interchangeable: I am/ Am I (?).
Materials: Polyfilla, expanding foam filler, gloss white house paint, plaster, television bracket.
